2. Filming equipment & sound

  • CAMERA

To film, you can either use a smartphone  or a DSLR camera.

  • AUDIO (important)

Audio is one of the most important aspects of video. There are 2 options for recording quality audio for your videos:

Option 1 (External microphone): Use a camera or smartphone with an external microphone, such as one of these: Microphone for Smartphone or Microphone for DSLR

Option 2 (Voiceover): This option doesn't require you to purchase any additional equipment and can be done easily with your smartphone. After filming your video without audio, you can use your cellphone to record a voiceover and narrate your techniques. Many tutorial videos are recorded this way.

Sample video with voiceover audio:

Voiceover steps:
  1. Record your tutorial video without any talking/voice.
  2. While looking at the recorded video, record your voice using your smartphone’s voice memo app.
  3. Upload video and audio files to Dropbox account.

Note: If you need any technical help, our team is happy to jump on a call to assist you if needed.😊

3. Filming location

📍 Whether you're filming in your house, garage, park, or gym, it's best to choose a location that's quiet & that has good lighting.

  • TIP 1

Do your best to keep your filming location as organized as possible and keep any distracting elements out of the background.

  • TIP 2

If you're shooting in natural light either indoors or outdoors, be sure that you are facing the light to avoid filming silhouettes. 👤

4. Topics & video length

  • CONTENT TOPICS

👉 Video content can cover a range of topics, such as:

    • Martial arts technique tutorials
    • Exercise routines (w/ or w/out gear)
    • Drills
    • Lifestyle and vlog
    • Nutrition
    • Visualization and mental endurance
    • Biography
    • Interviews
    • Freestyle - your creative ideas are welcome!
  • VIDEO LENGTH

👉 You'll need to provide 2 hours worth of video content per month.

Videos will be edited to approximately 5 minutes each and uploaded to Malibra. You can record videos in 5 minute increments or as long as 1-2 hours in length - just keep in mind that the post-production team will edit them into several shorter videos.

Congrats! 🎉 Now you’re ready to start filming!
